Two new members join ABF board

Jeff Sloan and Will Kline accepted membership to the Allen Bass Fund Board of Directors following the resignations of two long-serving members. Sloan will replace board member Ted Maack and Kline will serve as vice-president. Maack and former vice-president Doug Fulle submitted their resignations at the ABF board's annual meeting on August 11, 2018.

In other action, the ABF board approved 16 scholarships totaling $17,930 as well as other grants for campers at Camp Bil-O-Wood. A total of 57 donors gave $22,840 to the Allen Bass Fund in the 2017-18 fiscal year. In addition to the scholarships, the ABF board approved an Uncle Woody Award in the amount of $1,250 to a deserving camper and two awards from the Michelle Sherman Memorial Fund totaling $1,000. It also okayed $1,000 for expenses related to the camp's tripping department.

Since the Allen Bass Fund is recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization all donations to the Fund are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Since it started in 1987 the Allen Bass Fund has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to scores of needy campers through the generosity of its donors. If you would like to donate – any amount would be appreciated – mail your check, payable to the Allen Bass Fund, to:

The Allen Bass Fund also offers its donors an online giving option through PayPal. By clicking the "Donate" button below, donors can make a credit card donation to the Allen Bass Fund through the secure PayPal website. Donors do not need a PayPal account in order to use this option.

Applications must be returned by April 15 and decisions are made by the Allen Bass Fund board in early May. All applicants are notified of the results.
